breeding for min pins

i just started a breeding business and started with older dogs. im not sure of the do's and dont's and my first dog is in heat and they already hooked up how many times should i let them do that? do i have to keep the male away from the female when not attended? i have a lot of questions and dont really know just where to start! i need help please!!!!! thanks
