Candy Cane Hot Chocolate

My girls and I have been snowed in. Of course, this is excellent news according to my daughter. She is content to go out in the snow and build snowmen. Every time she comes back inside she says, "Can I have some hot chocolate?"

I decided to have her help me make some candy cane hot chocolate to mix things up a bit. It really isn't hard at all, so I thought I would share the recipe with you.

Begin by pouring two cups of milk in a small pot. Set the pot on the stove and turn the heat setting to medium-high. Place two candy canes in a plastic baggy and hit it with a hammer until it is in pieces. When the milk has warmed up, add the candy cane pieces. Now open a packet of hot chocolate over the milk. Mix the ingredients together until the candy cane pieces have melted. Pour the candy cane hot chocolate in a mug and add a few mini marshmallows and a candy cane for decoration.

Hey it is a great tip, I'm sure my kids and loved one would love this. I am searching everywhere in the internet but found nothing like this one. Thanks. Also try our Shun Ken Onion Knives

What i used to to when i was a kid was just make a cup of hot chocolate(putting hot water in the microwave or however you do it). Then after mixing the chocolate just stick a candy cane in it and drink. (also stir the hot chocolate with the candy cane to spread the flavor.

I almost bought candycanes yesterday. I don't really like that much peppermint usually. This would have been a nice idea for today though. I am going down to visit my sister and her kids. I am making gingerbread people, snowmen, houses and such so I'm sure they will be happy. But this recipe would have been a lot simpler and taken far less time. :)
