Caught in the Inact

So...who’s listening (or reading, I should say...or write)?

Obviously the editor at LifeTips is. I was called out today for not living up to my end of the bargain...and rightly so. My editor here at LifeTips has issued the sentence and that sentence is MORE POSTS.

I shall serve my sentence without complaint.

See, one of the worst mistakes you can make as a copywriter, and especially as a blogger, is not writing. And I have been extremely guilty of this as of late. It isn’t like I intentionally ignore my Guru site and I promise that I wasn’t actually trying to get noticed. The life of a copywriter can be very busy.

All excuses aside, ignoring your personal blog can be very detrimental to your career as a copywriter, however. Your blog is a gateway for potential customers to see your work as well as a side of your writing they may not get from copywriting samples alone.

This isn’t to say that your blog should include deeply personal information about your latest family spat or the craziness from last Friday in the French Quarter, but you should allow yourself to become comfortable with the keyboard and put some personality into your blog.

(Just a tip...putting some personality into your copy doesn’t hurt either.)

Anyway, keep an eye out for future posts and if you feel the need knock me in the head once in a while if you feel I’m slacking off.
