I'm Sorry, Business is Good & I Could Have Died From Mold Inhalation

Sometimes we need to get our priorities straight...

Let me tell you a little about how my life has been the past few weeks (read months) since I last posted anything to the LifeTips site (not that I am complaining or giving excuses for my lack of attention to this site - just the reasons behind said exodus).

For starters I work for an online retailer and since November I have taken over the paid search side of the business along with my normal SEO and copywriting duties. This additional duty - though lucrative for myself (happy dance) - has come with much more stress and has required me to take some time to learn about PPC marketing in an attempt to becoming a Guru of sorts in that side of SEM (search engine marketing) as well (let's face it - whether it is copywriting, SEO or PPC, it is all SEM), and that is what we are as Internet copywriters anyway...members of the SEM industry.

Outside of the 9 to 5'er, I also run my business, SEO Specialties which provides SEO consulting, content creation and other SEM services (Now with PPC Management!). Have I mentioned this before? :P

And business has been good to me. That is the beauty of Internet marketing, whether it be copywriting, SEO or the paid search side of things. There are always online businesses looking to grow and they need specialists like me and possibly you to make that happen.

Now, about the mold inhalation...

During the past few months I have moved twice.

Yep. Twice.

The first time I moved it was to lovely downtown baton Rouge to a riverside condo overlooking the gorgeous (read brown and possibly toxic) Mississippi River and the towering (read phallic shaped) New State Capital building.

Now, when I first moved I couldn't have been happier...

Nice view, close to everything (read nothing) downtown has to offer and only a 5 miles (read 30 minutes) from the 9 to 5'er.

Couldn't have been happier.

Then the sickness began.

Now, before we start calling Dateline I need to clarify that I was not bed ridden and coughing up blood...just sick when I am normally quite healthy (though there was a rash outbreak of bloody noses. Then one day my wife opened the French doors for a little spring cleaning and noticed the spores growing in the corner and around the door frame. These spores quickly spread and soon we were in an epic battle against the fungus (or whatever mold is).

Needless to say a few emails and our 5 month stay at the condo was done.

Now we are living in a new place, not in downtown with a view of a parking lot and i couldn't be happier (read not coughing up weird stuff and no bloody noses).

What I am saying dear readers (if there are any) is that I am not making excuses for why I have not been active, just giving my reasons. I will try much harder to be more active and even get that damn book published...

I like being a guru...

Hell, I've even grown a beard (will post pictures but until then just Google "Iron & Wine" or imagine Zack Galifianakis from "The Hangover".

Anyway, here's to not being lazy anymore.
