Cardio Vs. Weight Training - The Epic Battle Begins!I want to discuss the Epic Battle (or struggle) between people who believe that Cardio is the best thing for you and people who believe that Weight Training is the best thing for you. Well, I have an opinion on the subject but I will try and not let it show. What I would like to do instead is show the benefits of each over the next week or so, helping you to learn why each one is beneficial for you and the anatomical reasoning behind it. Based upon your own personalized goal, hopefully more understanding will come about how you can get to where you want to be. I'm sure you will learn some things about both Cardiorespiratory Exercise and Weight Training that you did not know before, helping you to see the benefits of both. An addicted half marathonner who would like to compete in a fitness competition....giving up running for a 40 minute fat burning cardio workout seems WHIMPISH. I'm so addicted, I can't leave the gym with less than a three mile run. If the temps reach 45, it's a sure sign that a 7 miler or more will be underway within moments. Makes me cry to think about not running for a while. I know, self imposed goal, but what to do? Can't I have my cake and eat it, too? 4/15/2009 9:27:30 PM Nicholas said: Run! I see nothing wrong with that. There is not only one way to get in shape for a fitness competition...you can run, just perform weight bearing exercise too. |
