Sometimes it's very easy to get off track. The daily grind of dropping off the kids at school, going to work, picking up the kids after school, buying groceries, making dinner, and putting the kids to bed often doesn't leave much time for anything else. However, if you want your child to excel in school, then you need to emphasize its importance now, especially now, while her enthusiasm for learning is at its greatest. Just take an extra 10-15 minutes a day to review what she learned (take a quick look at any papers your child brings home) and ask specific questions.
Be aware of the objectives and skills your child is expected to master this year, and take the next step by introducing those concepts or skills yourself. That way, she will already have a head start in the classroom.
