Sometimes it's harder for runners to stay hydrated in the winter. It's cold, and drinking cold water sounds less appealing. Coffee and tea help you stay hydrated to some extent, but too much caffeine can have the opposite effect.
Have you noticed that your legs are cramping at night , during workouts, or when you're at work? Dehydration may be to blame. Do your best to stay hydrated, and while you're at it, have a banana. Bananas are excellent sources of potassium, which can help stop muscle cramps before they start. For the best of both world, why not make a banana smoothie? It's a drink, it's potassium, and it might make you think of warmer weather.
Happy running!
